Abstract: A general class of product type estimators in C.S.S. scheme is proposed to estimate the population mean of a response variable y. Jack – knife technique pioneered by quenouille (1949, 1956) is applied to make the class unbiased. The explicit expression for sampling variance of the class Tpu is derived to first order (n-1) of approximation. Minimum Variance Unbiased Estimator (M.V.U.E.) in the class Tpu is investigated. An empirical illustration is provided to examine the applicability of the results derived.
