Disease dynamics and relationship of disease development with weather parameters

Author(s): Dheerendra Pratap Singh, SR Mishra and Krishna Deo

Abstract: A field experiments was conducted during Rabi seasons of 2014-2015 and 2015-2016 at the Agromet. Farm, N.D. University of Agriculture and Technology, Kumarganj, Faizabad (U.P.) with a view to study the disease dynamics and relationship of disease development with weather parameters. The findings of present investigation indicated that the grain and straw yields as well as most of the growth and yield attributes of wheat were significantly influence due to different temperature (T. max. and T. min.), seed rate and variety of wheat. Disease occurrence was started with slow rate from January onwards during both the years of investigation. PDI during both the years of investigation increased during warm and humid climate and its maximum intensity was found during reproductive stage of growth. Losses in yield were estimated due to leaf blight was 15.1% and 14.6% as the result of multiplication of pathogen rapidly during warm and humid climate.
