Abstract:
In the present manuscript Fe (III) complexes with mixed chelating ligands viz., Diethyl-dithiocarbamic acid (A), 2,4-Pentandione (B), quinoline-8-ol © and 2-aminoacetic acid (D) were synthesized in 1:2:1/1:1:2 stoichiometric ratio. Physico-chemical studies suggest distorted octahedral coordination geometry in all cases of isolated iron (III) complexes. Compounds from 1-10 assayed for their vitro antimicrobial activities against four bacterial and two fungal strains were found to be iron complexes are more noxious the free compounds. These complexes also have been found as efficient electron transfer agent in many biological processes.
