Stability analysis of wheat genotypes under different water regimes

Abstract: The present field experiment was conducted during Rabi 2020-21 to estimate stability of grain yield using Eberhart and Russell (1966) model. The experimental material consisted of seventeen grown in randomized block design with three replications and four water regimes. The analysis of variance revealed presence of significant variability among genotypes, environment and their interaction for all characters. All linear components of genotype x environment interaction were significant while pooled deviation was found non-significant for all characters. Based on stability parameters seven genotypes DBW 110, HI 8823, DDW 47, CG 1015, CG 1039, CG 1903 and CG 1913 were found stable for all characters. This indicated the presence of variability in environments and variation in genotypes. Two genotypes CG 1913 and DDW 47 produced higher grain yield and were most stable with minimum and non-significant deviation from regression (S2d = 0) and average responsive with regression coefficient almost equal to unity (bi = 1) in all four water regimes for grain yield.
