Abstract: The present investigation was conducted at Research field of Department of Fruit Science College of Agriculture Raipur (C.G.) during 2019-20. Entitled “Studies on the effect of different growing media on rooting and shooting of pomegranate (Punica granatum L.) cuttings cv. Super Bhagwa under Chhattisgarh plains condition.’’ The experiment was consisting different type of growing media and their combination viz. T0- Garden soil (control), T1- Sand, T2- Vermicompost, T3- Coco peat, T4- Saw dust, T5- FYM, T6- Poultry manure, T7- Sand + Vermicompost (1:1), T8- Sand + Cocopeat (1:1), T9- Sand + Saw dust (1:1), T10- Sand + FYM(1:1), and T11- Sand + Poultry manure (1:1). To find out the influence of various type of media on rooting and survival percentage of pomegranate. The overall best performance was observed in media combination T8 for rooting and survival percentage. Number of roots per cutting (32.44), Length of roots (30.37 cm), Diameter of roots (1.52mm), Fresh weight of root (4.15 gm), Dry weight of root (1.55 gm), Survival percentage (80.61 %). When used alone garden soil medium result showed the least performance and provide unsatisfactory result for rooting and survival parameter.
