Abstract: Sugarcane is the most adaptable plant under varied ecological conditions and the critical period of crop-weed competition has been recorded to be 60-120 days after planting in spring cane and 150 days in autumn cane (Singh et al., 2011). The primary objective of this research was to evaluate the Effect of different doses of Halosulfuron methyl 6% + Metribuzin 50% on weed management in sugarcane an experiment was conducted at Agricultural Research farm of Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh during spring seasons of 2018-19. The maximum suppression of total weed density, total weed biomass and the highest weed control efficiency were obtained with post-emergence application of halosulfuron methyl 6% + metribuzin 50% WG 1.25 kg ha-1 better than pre-emergence application of halosulfuron methyl 6% + metribuzin 50% WG 1.25 kg ha-1.
