Abstract: Sugarcane is one of the important cash crops in India affected by several biotic and abiotic factors, among these top rot disease caused by Fusarium moniliforme Sheldon is a serious threat to its cultivation in terms of quality and production. An experiment was conducted simultaneously in vitro and in vivo condition to assess the efficacy of fungicide on growth and yield traits of sugarcane against top rot disease. Five fungicides namely Blitox-50 WP (Copper oxychloride), Bavistin (Carbendazim), Dithane M-45 (Mancozeb), Captan 50% WP (Heterocyclic nitrogenous compound) and Bayletan (Tridimefon) were used in different level of concentration i.e, 100, 500, 1000, 1500, 2000, 2500 and 3000 ppm respectively in vitro condition and 1000, 1500, 2000 ppm were used in vivo condition to evaluate their comparative efficacy against Fusarium moniliforme Sheldon. Almost all the concentration of Bavistin has maximum percent inhibition in colony diameter at Richards’ agar medium in vitro while, In vivo condition the highest cane length (cm), number of internodes, yield (t/ha) and minimum incidence of disease were recorded through Bavistin followed by Bayletan as compare to control.
