Abstract: During kharif 2016, the bio-efficacy of selected new chemical molecules were tested against leaf webber and capsule borer, A. catalaunalis Dup. at College of Agriculture, V. C. Farm, A field experiment was laid-out under Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 10 treatments including an untreated control and were replicated thrice. A popular sesame multicapsule variety GT - 1 was sown and nine insecticide molecules were tested in comparison with untreated check against sesame leaf webber and capsule borer. Among the treatment the foliar sprays of spinosad 45 SC @ 0.15 ml/l followed by indoxacarb 14.5 SC @ 0.30 ml/l and profenphos 50 EC @ 2 ml/l was found to be most effective against leaf webber and capsule borer. The cost economics of leaf webber and capsule borer management revealed that, among the treatments the highest yield (7.05 q/ha) was recorded in spinosad 45 SC @ 0.15 ml/l. This was followed by indoxacarb 14.5 SC @ 0.30 ml/l and profenphos 50 EC @ 2 ml/l, which recorded 5.38, 5.11 q/ha respectively. Among the treatments the highest net profit (Rs. 68988/ ha) was recorded in spinosad 45 SC @ 0.15 ml/l. Followed by indoxacarb 14.5 SC @ 0.30 ml/l which recorded (Rs. 50237/ha) and profenphos 50 EC @ 2 ml/l (Rs. 46474/ha). The highest cost benefit ratio (1: 4.41) was recorded in spinosad 45 SC @ 0.15 ml/l. This was followed by indoxacarb 14.5 SC @ 0.30 ml/l and profenphos 50 EC @ 2 ml/l which recorded 1: 3.51 and 1: 3.13, respectively.
