Abstract: The objective of this study was to estimate the direct and indirect effects of iron and zinc concentration and agronomic traits on grain yield in Swarna x Type 3 RIL population of rice. Correlations between traits were estimated and decomposed into direct and indirect effects using path analysis. Path coefficient analysis revealed that test weight exerted the highest positive direct effect on grain yield followed by plant height, number of filled grains per panicle, days to 50% flowering and number of productive tillers per plant. The negative direct effect was noticed on grain yield by panicle length, panicle weight, grain zinc and iron concentration.
