Author(s): P Rajalakshimi, G Balasubramanian, PP Mahendran and S Umesh Kanna

Abstract: A field experiment was conducted at the college farm, Agricultural College and Research Institute, Madurai during Rabi 2018 on sandy clay loam soil to study the effect of bio manures on growth and yield of sorghum. The treatments comprised of bio manures viz, vermicompost, bio compost and FYM alone and in combination with graded levels of inorganic fertilizers. Growth and physiological attributes, vi., plant height, root length, chlorophyll content, leaf area and Leaf area index and yield attributes viz, length and weight of ear head, no. of filled grains per ear head, 1000 grain weight, grain and stover yield were found to be higher for 75 percent Recommended Dose of Fertiliser+25 percent of Vermicompost.
