Abstract: A field experiment was conducted at Potato Research Station, S.D. Agricultural University, Deesa during 2015-16 and 2016-17 to evaluate the effective fungicides against early blight caused by Alternaria solani Ellis and Martin of Potato. The four sequential fungicidal treatments viz. T1- water spray (Untreated), T2- Spray of Urea (1%) + mancozeb 75 WP @ 0.25% at 40-45 days crop age and repeat at 8-10 days interval, T3- Spray of Urea (1%) + mancozeb 75 WP @0.25% at 40-45 days crop age and repeat at 8-10 days interval followed by one more spray of mancozeb 75 WP @ 0.25% and T4 - First spray of mancozeb 75 WP(0.25%), second spray of hexaconazole 5 EC (0.05%) and third spray of mancozeb 75 WP (0.25%) at 8-10 days interval were applied after the appearance of disease. The results revealed that significantly lowest disease severity (6.16%) at 40 days after disease appearance, highest yield (54.94 tons/ha) and highest net return was recorded in treatment first spray of mancozeb 75 WP (0.25%), second spray of hexaconazole 5 EC (0.05%) and third spray of mancozeb 75 WP (0.25%) at 8-10 days interval started from first disease appearance as compared to other treatments.
