Abstract: Performance of fodder sorghum [Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench] cultivars viz., three varieties viz., CSV 21 F, CSV 30 F and CSV 32 F was evaluated under 4 sowing dates (I FN of January, II FN of January, I FN of February and II FN of February) at dryland farm of S.V. Agricultural College, Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh during summer 2018 to find possibility of summer fodder sorghum cultivation in southern agro climatic zone of Andhra Pradesh. The experimental results indicated that, Among different fodder sorghum varieties tested, CSV 32 F has recorded significantly superior growth and yield parameters. While the lowest values were recorded with CSV 21 F. Irrespective of time of sowing fodder sorghum variety CSV 32 F was recorded higher values of plant plant height, leaf area, dry matter production, number of tillers, stem ratio and Stem diameter. The crop sown during I FN of January recorded the highest green and dry fodder yield which was comparable with II FN of January, whereas significantly lower values was recorded with II FN of February.
