A review: Forest fire in India

Abstract: This article indicate the forest fire in India 1990, 1999, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2014 and 2016. According to Forest Survey of India, 1995 data on forest fire attribute around 50% of the forest areas as fire prone. Forest fire affected the type of forest such as conifers forest (8%), moist deciduous forest (5%), dry deciduous forest (15%), wet semi-ever green (9%) and north eastern region (50%). Forest fire in India is mainly occurs from February to June. Fire danger peaks up during the summer months and is usually critically high for only 2 or 3 months depending on latitude and fuel condition. Topographic factors are useful indicators in the prediction of ï¬re. In connection with forest management, a particular point needing emphasis is hazard and reduction.
