Effect of Azolla feeding as a supplement on milk and reproduction performance on zebu cattle under field condition

Abstract: Azolla has enormous potential as a livestock feed due to its high content of Protein, essential amino acids, vitamins, growth promoter intermediaries and minerals. This technology of cultivation of Azolla was transferred through conductance of demonstrations and trainings in the District. Feeding of Azolla as livestock feed to milch animals resulted in Increase in milk yield and fat content and considerably improved reproductive traits. The findings revealed that 20% milk yield increased and 32% conception rate of native cattle improved in semi arid condition of western Rajasthan.
