Effect of integrated nutrient management on growth parameters, yield attributes and yield of late sown wheat (Triticum aestivum L.)

Author(s): Vishram Singh, Ram Pyare and Gaurav Kumar Singh

Abstract: The present experiments were carried out in two consecutive years of Rabi season 2013-14 and 2014-15 at Students’ Instructional Farm, C.S. Azad University of Agriculture & Technology, Kanpur (UP) with a view to find out the effect of vermicompost, FYM and chemical fertilizers on growth and yield of late sown wheat. The soil of experimental field was sandy loam in texture having organic carbon (0.34%), available nitrogen (170 kg/ha), P2O5 (12.6 kg/ha) and K2O (155 kg/ha) with soil pH (7.7). Nine treatments were tested in Randomized Block Design with three replications. The data analysed on individual years as well as on pooled basis and presented in pooled data. The data were recorded on growth parameters, yield attributes and yields of wheat. On the basis of experimental results it was found that superior growth and yield attributes with highest grain yield (41.04 q/ha) was received in RDF + Vermicompost @ 5.0 t/ha. followed by (39.80 q/ha) in RDF + FYM @ 5.0 t/ha. + Vermicompost @ 1.25 t/ha. The minimum grain yield (32.91 q/ha) was received in RDF 100% (80:40:30 NPK kg/ha). The straw yield of wheat recorded minimum 52.06 q/ha under RDF 100% dose treatment and maximum straw yield 62.45 q/ha recorded under RDF + vermicompost @ 5.0 t/ha treatment shown significant improvement in straw yield. The harvest index recorded under RDF + FYM @ 5.0 t/ha, RDF + vermicompost @ 1.25 q/ha doses significantly at par among themselves and significantly inferior compared to control treatment (RDF 100%) on the basis of pooled data in present experimentation.
