A study on economics of paddy production and its processing in Banda district, Bundelkhand, Uttar Pradesh

Abstract: Hundred sample farmers (marginal, small, and medium) were interviewed from five villages of “Naraini†block of Banda district (U.P.). data analysed and found that on an overall average cost of cultivation per hectare found to be Rs. 42564.27 on medium farms. Likewise, cost of production per quintal was Rs. 723.83 and productivity was 28.26 quintal per ha. The input-output ratio was found to be 1:0.89. Paddy cultivation in the study was characterized by decreasing return to scale.
