Persistence of different insecticides in Chilli fruits

Abstract: Filed experiment was conducted at Farmers field, Village Kesali, Ta. Gandevi, Dist. Navsari during 2015 and Laboratory studies carried out at Food Quality Testing Laboratory, N. M. College of Agriculture, Navsari Agricultural University, Navsari-39 450. Following two spray of fipronil 5 SC (25 mL a.i./ha), lambda-cyhalothrin 5 EC (25 mL a.i./ha), ethion 40 EC (444 mL a.i./ha), cypermethrin 5 EC (55.5 mL a.i./ha), fenpropathrin 30 EC (150 mL a.i./ha) and fenazaquin 10 EC (50 mL a.i./ha) in chilli at 15 days interval resulted that, initial deposit and half-life period were 0.27 µg g-1 (11.67 days) for fipronil, 0.33 µg g-1 (6.98 days) for lambda-cyhalothrin, 0.20 µg g-1 (4.68 days) for ethion, 0.55 µg g-1 (2.6 days) for cypermethrin, 1.58 µg g-1 (8.14 days) for fenpropathrin and 2.33 µg g-1 (8.14 days) for fenazaquin, respectively.
