Impact of field demonstrations of improved roduction technology for chickpea (Cicer arietinuml.) at Dhule district of Maharashtra

Author(s): Dr. Milind Ahire, Jagdish Kathepuri and Dr. Pankaj Patil

Abstract: Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Dhule conducted 375 demonstrations on Chickpea (cv. Digvijay) during 2011-12 and 2013-14 in Rabi season. There was 62.03 to 84.70 per cent increase in yield. Adoption of improved production technology recommended by Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth, Rahuri (Maharashtra) gave significant increase in the yield. Improved production technology resulted in enhanced yield from 1500 kg to 2500 kg/ha, due to high yielding varieties, recommended seed rate, fertilization and plant protection measures.
