Evaluation of performance parameters of power weeder

Abstract: Power weeder was evaluated for its performance in sugarcane crop. This test was conducted at different moisture contents of soil and different speeds of weeder. The effective field capacity of power weeder was varied from 0.0476 to 0.231 ha h-1 at 3 forward speeds at 30, 45 and 60 DAS. The weeding efficiency of power weeder with 3 forward speeds at 30, 45 and 60 DAS were varied in the range of 98.74 to 91.22% at 0.584 km h-1, 96.80 to 84.93% at 1.35 km h-1, and 94.67 to 73.72% at 4.153 km h-1. The minimum plant and maximum plant damage was observed at a forward speed of 0.584 km h-1 and 4.153 km h-1, respectively.
