Impact of training programme on farm women

Abstract: Need based training were conducted with selected target group of 140 rural women from nearby adopted five villages for developing self-employment. The main areas for skill development among rural women were Fabric painting, Fruit and vegetable preservation, Tie and dye of fabric, Extraction of banana fiber and Garment production. They require proper training to utilize different family resources.
It is well known fact that the status of women particularly in rural areas is low and their socio economic conditions are much more depressed than that of men. Women are the indicator of society’s progress and Prosperity. We have large number of well conceptualized and formulated scheme for poor rural women. The challenges lie in converting these concerns into reality. Besides the house- hold work women perform a significant role in informal sector. They carry double role as house-hold responsibility at home and as a wage earner. In this context it becomes felt need to formulate need based intervention programmes for rural for rural adolescent girls and women to empower them by organizing capacity and skill training on selected enterprises. This will enable them in building confidence and making effective contribution on providing more amenities for the well-being of the family member.
