Abstract: The research involving thirty cucumber genotypes was conducted in randomized complete block design with two replications with an objective to assess genetic variability, heritability and genetic gain for various yield and its constituent traits. Estimates of phenotypic coefficient of variation (PCV) were higher than the corresponding values of genotypic coefficient of variation (GCV), though difference was very less in majority of the cases, thus showing these traits were less influenced by environmental factors. High phenotypic and genotypic coefficient of variation were observed for vine length, number of leaves at 90 days after sowing, leaf area, internodal length, number of branches per vine, number of fruits per vine, average fruit weight, fruit length, fruit yield per vine, fruit yield per plot and fruit yield per hectare. High heritability coupled with high to moderate genetic advance were observed for all the characters except for days to first male and female flowering and fruit set percentage.
