Abstract: Organic dyes are one of the major groups of pollutants widely used in textile, plastic, paper and many other industries. Textile industry exhaust large quantity of high content colored effluents, which are more toxic to environment and human. Degradation of textile effluent by conventional methods are not possible and get accumulated in water at higher concentrations. So, there is need to overcome this problem by using new methods. In present study bacterial culture Bacillus cereus MSS 2.8 and bioiron nanoparticles synthesized from Bacillus cereus MSS 2.8 were used for significant degradation of Brilliant green, Congo red, Nigrosine and Eosine yellow. The results were depicted that bacterial culture of Bacillus cereus MSS 2.8 and bioiron nanoparticles can decolorize/degrade all these four textile dyes successfully and it has been observed that maximum decolorization was observed with 20 ppm with decolorization percentage of 99.1, 98.7, 94.1 and 91.8% using brilliant green, congo red, nigrosine and eosine yellow respectively using bioiron nanoparticles.
