Abstract: Twenty moringa genotypes were evaluated in randomized block design with three replications at Department of Vegetable Crops, Horticultural College and Research Institute (HC&RI), Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Periyakulam during 2016 -2017. A wide range of variation was observed among the characters studied. Genetic divergence analysis was carried out using Mahalanobis D2 statistics and the 20 moringa genotypes were grouped into eight clusters. Among the eight clusters, cluster I was the largest with 4 genotypes, followed by cluster III, cluster VI and cluster VII with 3 genotypes each; cluster II, cluster IV, and cluster V, with 2 genotypes, clusters VIII with one genotype. The highest intra cluster distance was noticed in cluster VI followed by cluster VII. The highest inter cluster distance was observed between clusters VI and VIII, followed by clusters I and VI. Which may be used for hybridization programme for obtaining a broad spectrum of variability for transgressive segregants for the genetic improvement of moringa.
