Abstract: A field experiment was conducted during dry seasons of 2010-11 and 2011-12 in Instructional farm of Department of Agronomy, Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology, Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India on medium land sandy loam soil which is medium in organic carbon (0.54%), available N (295 kg ha-1), P (15 kg ha-1) and K (162 kg ha-1). It was low in available S (8 ppm), Zn (0.33 ppm) and B (0.43ppm).The experiment was conducted in randomized block design with eleven treatments with three replications which were applied in wet (kharif) season only. The rice variety ‘Lalat’ of 125 days duration was tested with different integrated nutrient management practices. During rabi season the said variety was grown in these treatment plots with a common dose of N-P2O5-K2O @ 80-40-40 kg ha-1 to study the residual effect of FYM, S, Zn and B on growth, yield, nutrient uptake and economics of rice. During rabi season, residual application of recommended fertilizer dose (RFD) @ 80-40-40 kg N-P2O5-K2O ha-1+ZnSO4 @ 25 kg ha-1+B @ 1 kg ha-1 recorded maximum grain (6.21 t ha-1) and straw yield (7.45 t ha-1) with highest uptake of nutrients N (195.5 kg ha-1), P (49.7 kg ha-1), K (204.9 kg ha-1), S (20 kg ha-1), Zn (439 g ha-1) and B (276 g ha-1), net return (Rs 47231 ha-1) and B:C ratio (1.75), which was due to residual effect of ZnSO4 (25 kg ha-1) and B (1 kg ha-1) applied to wet season rice. The increase in yield and yield attributes recorded with residual application of ZnSO4 and FYM were superior over residual use of S/B/Zn-EDTA during dry season.
