Profile of entrepreneurial behavior of rural youth practicing integrated farming system in Chamarajanagar district

Abstract: The study was conducted in Chamarajanagar district to develop a scale to measure the entrepreneurial behavior of rural youth practicing integrated farming system. Integrated Farming system (IFS) is a whole farm management system which aims to deliver more sustainable agriculture. Integrated Farming combines the best of modern tools and technologies with traditional practices according to a given site and situation. The findings of the study revealed that a majority of rural youth had medium to high level of entrepreneurial behavior. Nearly half of them (48.13%) had medium extension contact, more than 1/3rd of them had low extension participation (38.74%), medium social participation (40.63%) and vast majority (83.13%) of the rural youth had received training.
