Abstract: An experiment was conducted to study the “Effect of Spacing and Fertilizer levels on Chemical properties of Yam bean (Pachyrhizus erosus L.) tubersâ€. Two factors were studied during the investigation viz. a) Spacing S1 (60 x 20 cm), S2 (60 x 30 cm), S3 (60 x 60 cm) as main plot treatments and b) potash levels viz. F1 (80:40:40 NPK Kg/ha), F2 (80:40:60 NPK Kg/ha), F4 (80:40:80 NPK Kg/ha) and F4 (80:40:100 NPK Kg/ha) as subplot treatments. Chemical analysis of the tubers was done to analyze the protein, fiber, starch, dry matter and moisture content of the tubers from various treatments. Study revealed that among the various chemical parameters the effect of interaction on fiber, dry matter, starch and moisture was significant whereas it was non-significant on protein. The highest protein content was recorded in S1F4 (1.87%). The fiber content was analyzed highest in S3F2 (0.66%). The starch content was analyzed highest in S3F4 (7.18%). The highest dry matter content was recorded in S3F2 (25.58%). The highest moisture content was recorded in S3F4 (86.55%).
