Abstract: Post-harvest application of hexanal proved to be superior in respect of flower quality and shelf life of jasmine flowers. Among the various post-harvest treatments, Boric acid 4% + 600 ppm EFF for 2 hours recorded positive result for most of the parameters when compared to other treatments, The highest values for freshness index (91.12%), colour retention index (90.96%), solute leakage (29.09% and hence the highest membrane integrity) and total phenolic content (16.67 µg g-1) after 24 hours of treatment and enhance the shelf life of jasmine flowers upto 38.30 hours when compared to control (28.30 hours).
