Abstract: The main aim of the study was to assess the “Effect of foliar spray of different chemicals on biochemical and organoleptic qualities of custard apple cv. Balanagar under ambient storage†was carried out in the KRC College of Horticulture, Arabhavi under University of Horticultural Sciences, Bagalkot during the year 2016 and 2017. The treatments involved foliar application of calcium chloride (1.0 and 2.0 %), borax (0.2 and 0.3 %), salicylic acid (0.40 and 0.60 %) and potassium silicate (0.40 and 0.60 %) at 30 days before harvesting to know their efficacy on improvement of quality and shelf life. The result showed that, the maximum retention of titratable acidity, ascorbic acid and minimum TSS and sugars were recorded with foliar spray of potassium silicate at 0.60 per cent which was closely followed by calcium chloride at 2.0 per cent.
