Abstract: A field experiment was conducted during Kharif, 2016 and 2017 in sandy clay loam soils of experimental field at Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh to find out the effect of leaf colour chart based nitrogen and weed management practices on yield attributes, yield and economics of direct seeded rice. The experiment was laid out in split plot design with four main plot treatments and five sub plot treatments which were replicated thrice. It was found that superior performance of rice in terms of yield attributes and yield was observed with application of nitrogen @ LCC < 5 (N4). Among weed management practices, maximum Weed control efficiency, yield, gross returns, net returns and B: C ratio was recorded with application of pyrazosulfuron @ 20 g a.i ha-1 (PE) fb bispyribac @ 25 g a.i ha-1 at 15-20 DAS (W4) which was comparable with two hand weedings at 20 and 40 DAS (W1) while weedy check (W0) recorded lowest weed control efficiency, yield and yield attributes and economics.
