Abstract: The ethyl acetate extract from the stem bark of Alstonia boonei (Apocynaceae) were investigated for highlight its cardiac glycosides components. This has leaded to the isolation and identification of two digitoxigenin derivative. The first one, Evomonoside, was known and the second one, 3b-O-[5(3,4-dihydroxy-5-methyltetrahydrofuran-2-yloxy)digitoxopyranosyl-2-yloxy]-5-en-14b -hydroxy-16b -acryloxydigitoxigenin, was new. Both compounds were isolated for the first time from A. boonei and their structures were established thanks to their spectral data (NMR, MS, IR and UV).
