Abstract: In the present study the crude oil and defatted seed cake were used to evaluate total phenolics, flavonoids, total tocopherol and antioxidant activity. P. pinnata seeds were collected from two locations and oil were found by soxhlet technique. Using spectrophotometer to determined phenols, flavonoids, tocopherol and antioxidant activity by DPPH method for two locations. The seeds and oils were evaluated for their proximate composition and chemical analysis. P. pinnata had highest phenolics 51.2±0.2 mgGAE/g and flavonoids content 2.5±0.2 mgCAE/g. The maximum antioxidant activity was 74% and in terms of IC50 value was 0.048±0.0 mg/ml.The proximate analysis revealed the presence of high amounts of oil content, fibre and protein in the seeds. The dominant fatty acid found in the oils were oleic acid and linoleic acid.
