Abstract: In the present study was undertaken to emotional stress, neurotransmitter imbalances and genetic factors are responsible for alcoholism. It has deleterious effect on male and female hormones leading to fecundity (fertility) and impotency. A vigilant statistical analysis indicated the above prevalence rate for alcoholism to the populations of various countries and regions. Alcohol affects male hormone levels and reproductive function such as testes, leydig cells, hypothalamus, testosterone metabolism and cell damage. This review considers evidence for an effect of moderate alcohol consumption on female hormone i.e. the levels of estrogen and progesterone, the timing of onset of the menopause and fecundity.
