Abstract: The aims of this study was to evaluate the phytochemical composition and acute toxicity of ethanolic extract from leaves of Annona muricata (L.) from Benin. The results of phytochemical analysis indicated that tanins gallics, tanins catechics, flavonoids, leuco-anthocyans and mucilages are presents in leaves of Annona muricata. However, quinonics and cyanogenics derivatives as well as saponosides are not detected. The results of acute oral toxicity of ethanolic extract from leaves of Annona muricata indicated that the LD50 value of the ethanolic extract from leaves of Annona muricata was 3750 mg.kg-1, corresponding to the low class toxicity substance.
