Abstract: Field experiment was conducted during summer season (zaid) of 2005 on silty loam soil at Student Instructional Farm of Narendra Deva University of Agriculture & Technology, Kumarganj, Faizabad (24.4o–26.56o N, 82.12o–83.98o E, elevation 113 m) in Uttar Pradesh state, located at Indo-Gangetic Plain classified as Eastern Plain Zone No. 8. Twelve treatments coded from T1 to T12 were tested in randomized block design with three replications. The objective of the study was to investigate the effects of three phosphorus levels (20, 40 & 60 kg ha-1) with and without PSB or pressmud (5 t ha-1) on the dry matter accumulation, phosphorus content and their uptake of urdbean. The results revealed that 60 kg P2O5 along with pressmud 5 t ha-1 significantly increased dry matter accumulation per plant. Phosphorus concentration in plants parts and its uptake by a crop of urdbean were maximum with 60 kg P2O5 + pressmud 5 t ha-1. On the other hand the lowest values of these parameters were obtained from control treatment.
