Abstract: An investigation was undertaken to study the quality of irrigation waters by analyzing 200 samples from ten talukas of Rajkot district. In general, the underground well/tube well water was neutral to alkaline in reaction. The overall pH values ranged from 7.01 to 8.42 with mean value of 7.59. The water was saline in nature and overall EC values ranged from 0.70 to 9.24 with mean value of 2.07 dSm-1. On the basis of EC, 68.5 and 28.5 per cent samples were found in C3 and C4 classes, respectively. Whereas on the basis of SAR, 97.0, 3.0 per cent samples falls under S1 and S2 classes, respectively. Highly significant positive relations were observed between ECiw with SSPiw and SARiw. The pHiw was significantly and positively correlated with RSCiw.
