Abstract: In order to evaluate some of the most promising genotypes, with respect to the chemical quality parameters in chilli, a field experiment was conducted at the All India Co-ordinated Research Project on Vegetable Crops, Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology, Bhubaneswar, during the rabi seasons of 2016-17 in the randomized block design with 11 genotypes grown in 3 replications. Results revealed that the genotype Ascorbic acid content was maximum in genotype 2014/CHIVAR-6 followed by 2014/CHIVAR-7. The maximum oleoresin (%) was recorded in 2014/CHIVAR- 5 follow by LCA-334. Genotype 2014/CHIVAR-10 recorded highest total colour value (129.45) followed by 2014/CHIVAR-2 and KA-2. KA-2 recorded maximum capsaicin content in fruit followed by 2014/CHIVAR-8.
