Storage and glass jar packaging dependent physical properties of tomatoes

Abstract: Study was conducted to see the effect of packaging material and storage condition on the physical properties of tomatoes (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill) varieties Himshikhar and NS – 524. Tomatoes were packaged in glass jar and stored under refrigerator, BOD incubator and ambient temperatures, physical parameters of each tomato were recorded and data was compared for both varieties. Himshikhar variety shows minimum shrinkage as compared to NS-524.
