Preparation of nickel catalyst supported on alumina by impregnation were utilized in hydrogenation process

Abstract: In this study the nickel catalyst was prepared, which had been supported on gamma alumina this characterized with high surface area. Nickel sulphate was used as a source of nickel, while the method of Impregnation adopted as the basis for the preparation. The using Impregnation route consist two-stage, because it known that the preparation of catalysts with a high content of metal in one go is not possible. In the first stage the solution is fragmented into two parts and downloads each part separately. Then the Nickel content was measured in the solution by atomic absorption device as well as the comparison was made between the prepared catalyst and commercial catalytic by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray deflection (XRD).
