Tetrabutylammonium prolinate: A catalytic moiety for the synthesis of one pot five component synthesis of octahydroquinazolinone-1,3-dicarbaldehyde derivatives
Author(s): Shivani Verma and Virendra Kasana
Abstract: A series of novel derivatives of quinazolinone have been synthesized in one pot by reacting of substituted benzaldehyde, dimedone, urea/thiourea and formic acid at room temperature catalyzed by tetrabutylammonium prolinate (5mol%) as an efficient, environmentally benign and eco-friendly catalyst with excellent yield (82-93%), easy work up and short reaction time. The synthesized derivatives of octahydroquinazolinone-1,3,-dicarbaldehyde characterized and confirmed by 1HNMR and 13CNMR data.
