Abstract: The aim of the research work is a new application of Polypyrrole and its composites with bentonite for removing of heavy metal ions. The conducting polypyrrole composites were prepared by oxidation in presence of FeCl3. It was found that the polypyrrole composites can be used as an effective adsorbent in the removal of Pb (II) from wastewater under specific conditions. The effect of various parameters such as pH of solution, dosages of adsorbent contect time and initial concentration of metal ion solution were investigated. Also the product were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectrometer (FTIR) and analyzed by atomic absorption spectrophotometer (AAS) device.
